The Story

A manuscript known as Before the Curtain Rose once documented the people, places and events that prepared Stratford for its transformation into an international centre for theatre.

But six pages are incomplete.

The names of merchants, civic leaders, industrialists, park builders, visionaries and workers have disappeared from the record.

The Stratford Secret Society believes the missing history remains hidden in plain sight throughout the city.

Your assignment is to follow the manuscript’s surviving instructions, investigate six real Stratford landmarks and restore the names that helped shape the city before the first curtain rose.

Your Mission

As a newly appointed Investigator of the Stratford Secret Society, you have been granted access to the surviving fragments of Before the Curtain Rose.

Your investigation will lead through historic passageways, courthouse grounds, gardens, riverfront gathering places and the Festival Theatre.

At each location, examine the historical evidence, recover an Archive Key and restore another part of Stratford’s story.

Success will require observation, curiosity and attention to detail.
